Fashion Week IS HERE: Day 1 Recap

Today kicked off none other then Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to display the Spring 2014 collections. The day began with Nicholas K this morning and wrapped up a few hours ago with The Art Institute of New York. Below we have picked a few of our favorite looks of the day, which was hard because there were so many from which to choose. None the less, here they are.

One of our favorite designers of the day was Marissa Webb. She decided to keep the military structured influences from previous seasons going strong for the spring, while also mixing feminine pieces like printed wrap dresses. The collection was cohesive and flowed flawlessly.

Another knock out for the day was Richard Chai who had some amazing cropped top combos!!! With hues of orange and blue, Chai gave the illusion of summer through stripes and geomometrics.

Every year Supima holds a design competition in which students from fashion schools are chosen to compete. This year the Supima finalist definitely prepared us for the upcoming red carpet season with some amazing dresses. From more casual pieces to red carpet fabulous, the candidates truly outdid themselves. Regardless of who wins the competition, the collection overall is 1st place in our book.

What do you think about fashion week thus far?
Be sure to stay tuned as we continue to cover this week's fabulous collections.
